The Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals REACH – EC No. 1907/2006 came into force in June 2007 in all member states of the European Union. REACH aims to ensure a high level of protection for the environment and human health through the registration of all chemical substances produced in, or imported into Europe in quantities of 1 ton or more per year.
The Regulation on Classification, Labeling and Packaging of substances CLP – EC No. 1272/2008 came into force in January 2009 in all member states of the European Union. CLP aims to facilitate worldwide trade by harmonizing criteria for classification and labeling according to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of the United Nations.
